Nashville Flea Market

I spent the day at the Nashville Flea Market with my second main man, my son, Keith.

I am excited to show you what we picked up...

Great old Bingo Cards with a great added touch of old fabric

This little wooden box is going to be used outside this summer holding plates and napkins

Love this old wood...I'm thinking chalkboard paint or maybe something neat mod podged on it

Neat black shutter and an old sugar bag

And this little thing was my favorite.  Not exactly sure where it will reside, but I do have something on my mind...I'll share that with you when it takes its place

Oh, how I wish...I loved these chairs, but they had to stay at the flea market.

This big orange fridge did not come home with me either, but my daughter would have been thrilled if it could have

And, now I have to show you two sweet sweet people I met at the flea market and one of the main reasons I wanted to go today.  I found out about this neat lady on her blog,  Nostalgia Gal, and couldn't wait to meet a local blogger.

Meet Cindykay and her business partner, Charlie, from Hills Chapel Antiques...

This lady is full of energy and excitement.  She has some beautfiul antiques and certainly knows her business.  If you're in Nashville during flea market time, go by and meet her and be sure to check out her new blog.

Let me just tell you how exciting it was to finally meet a fellow blogger in person.  There are so many of you that I would love to meet because I know we would become lifelong friends.

Maybe someday...

Eddie Ross Sold My Chairs!

Last weekend Hubby and I went to the Richmond Home Show.  Eddie Ross was doing a presentation on using color in your home. I saw Eddie In November when he did a show for Richmond Magazine and he did such a great job I was excited to see him again. We both really enjoyed his presentation and his philosophy that you don't have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful home.

On Twitter Eddie mentioned his visit to Richmond and West End Antique Mall, where I happen to be a dealer. He posted a photo of two chairs in my space that he liked. OMG, The Eddie Ross likes my taste!  A couple of days later a lady saw the chairs on Twitter and came into West End Mall and bought them.  Thank you Eddie for helping with this sale and when you are back in Richmond I owe you lunch!

Wedding Coaster

I know we have all been there and done that, but I did one more.

I love the mod podged coasters and have made several different ones, but I have found my favorite and wanted to show you.

I took one of my wedding napkins that I had saved for now almost 20 years and turned it into a wonderful keepsake.

After a little mod podge and just a little effort, I had this...

I love this and, of course, we all know how easy they are to make.

Do you have a wedding napkin, baby shower or another keepsake napkin or piece of paper?  Try it for an awesome way to preserve a memory.  I'm thinkin we could even take a little love note from our hubbies and use that.

Closet Cleanup

Most of my closets are in fairly good condition in my home.  (notice that I used the word fairly)  I do have one closet, however, that was Terrible with a capital T.  I mean like tornado, hurricane terrible.

Yesterday I decided that something had to change.

This closet is in our playroom/school room/craft room/pool table room.  Can you tell this is a very multi purpose room?  And as for the crafting and pool table part...I have layed a big sheet over the pool table and it doubles as my crafting table.  It is used way more for crafting than for pool so it works well for me.

This little closet holds lots of school related things, games, dress up clothes and much much more.  All of it is mostly my seven year olds stuff.  Can you say TOO MUCH STUFF with me real loud so she can hear you?

You will cringe when you see the before...Are you ready?

I know...you don't have to say it.

That is dress up clothes, my friends, and they were everywhere.

I know, it's awful!!!

Are you wondering how the poor child even got in here to get anything?  I guess it was like PE to her just climbing over stuff.

This is the side that was really horrible. (okay, it's all really horrible)  It has all of her craft supplies, play doh and such.

So this is what I did first.  My oldest daughter made me some signs so that I could start making piles...

This was the first thing to get tossed.  Do you blame me?

I actually ended up tossing this bag full of garbage and boy it felt good.

I took these...

and made these...

It's getting better already.

I just pulled everything out and went through each item.

And then this started happening...

I could see the floor!!

I could easily get to any game now.

And all of her art supplies and such were all in order.

Isn't this amazing?

And, these things are in our sell pile.  It's not a lot, but I am still excited.  It is HARD for my little one to part with anything.  This is huge for her.  We will put these things  in a local consignment sale and make some money to buy more STUFF with.

Doesn't this closet look so much better?  Boy, it's amazing how out of control things can get when we can just shut the door on them.  I think that probably goes with some of our lives as well.  Hmmm...something to think about.

Do you enjoy cleaning out closets and cabinets and just getting organized?  I actually enjoyed every minute of this job today.  I enjoy getting organized and being organized.  It's the staying that way part that gets tough sometimes.
