Sneak Peek of our 2012 Thanksgiving Download Collection
I had hoped to have our 2012 Thanksgiving Download Collection available tonight. I finally got everything photographed but still don't have it all sized and uploaded yet because I've had a sick little one so I'm a wee bit behind. I am hoping to get it finished up here late tonight and have it available tomorrow. In the meantime though I thought I would show you a tiny sneak peek.
I hope you all are having a wonderful Monday!

A Desk Makeover and Autumn Chalkboard
Here are the last two projects from New Hampshire. The original plan was to place the table that we showed you last week on this wall here in the kitchen. It looked great here but poked out just a bit further than was ideal so while I was home we hunted through some of their old pieces in the basement to see if there was anything that might work in this space. At first it didn't seem like there was anything that would work but then I noticed an old desk that my mom had bought years ago for either $25 or $35 at a consignment shop. It was in great shape but not so appealing to look at. After having the boys lug it upstairs to see how it looked we realized that not only was it the perfect size, it was also functional. My parents had a similar desk in their last kitchen and it's so nice having a place to store pens, mail, stamps and all those little things that want to be handy but don't want cluttering up your counters.
So, after a quick coat of Kingsport Gray which they had leftover from another project, some distressing, a little bit of dark wax and a hardware change it was perfect for the spot! And we used knobs left over from their kitchen cabinets so they were free too! Eventually I'd like to replace the knobs on the two pull out drawers with cup pulls but I couldn't find the right ones while I was up there this last trip. And when we do find them we'll line them up evenly instead of how they are different right now. I didn't want to waste the time filling holes and drilling new ones until we had the cup pulls so I just put the new knobs in the same holes from the previous ones.
I love a free project! And even though my dad rolls his eyes every time we start a project (especially seeing how we had a wee bit of a paint spill during this project) I know he was secretly happy with this one seeing how he started filling it with things about ten minutes after it was in place. =)
My mom had found this chalkboard a couple of weeks before I was up there and I had fun writing a fall quote on it.
Ignore the color in these last couple of shots. I had bumped accidentally messed with my white balance somehow and of course didn't look down to check on any of the pictures so didn't realize it until I put them on my computer after I was back here in VA so it was too late to retake them. Ugh! The colors in the photos above show the wall color much better.
In this picture you can see how the newly painted desk looks with the fall vignette in the dining room.
We also are excited to be offering our Silent Night/Holy Night sets in Cranberry for the first time this year!
And these ticking stripe stockings!
I hope you all had a beautiful weekend!

A Fall Vignette and our Drummer Boy Silhouettes and Pillows
I thought I would show you another little vignette from my parent's house. To be honest I can't take much credit for this one. My mom had it pretty much all put together when I got there and I just played around with it a teeny tiny bit by adding the ladder and the artwork of my grandfather. Also, I played around with the leaves for a bit but they competed with the hydrangeas and were just way too bright so we went back to the branches (shown a few photos down).
I hope you all are having a wonderful week!
This is my mom's dad, my grandfather, and was done back in 1940 like the one of my great uncle that I showed you the other day that's on my parent's mantel.
I LOVE this basket with dried hydrangeas my mom had put here!
The table is from Collections at Laurel and Grove in Peterborough, NH and most of the accessories were items my parents already had.
I love how the greenish undertones of the clock are also in the hydrangeas and the picture of my grandfather!
We also wanted to let you know we stocked our first batch of drummer boy cutouts for this season:
And we have a discounted batch of white drummer boy pillow covers also just listed:
I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

A Simple Autumn Mantel
The girls and I spent last week in New Hampshire with my family. There is nothing more beautiful than autumn in New England. I hated leaving! We worked on a few small projects at my parent's new house including playing around with the mantel. We used all items that they had already so it was completely free!
They had quite a few faux pumpkins from years past in a mix of colors so we painted them all ballet white to coordinate nicely on the mantel. The leaves were freshly cut - I love how bright they are!
This is my Great Uncle Bob and was done back in 1940! (There's a coordinating one of his brother, my grandfather, that's in another room that I'll show later this week.)
Originally we couldn't find any orange branches low enough to cut so we used these ones that were a bit more dull until we got the orange ones. I liked how they looked but think the orange one pull out the background of the picture of Uncle Bob better.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Lola's Room for Fall and Winner of the Wreath
Lola's room was the easiest to add some autumn touches too. The color scheme of her room makes it simple to add pretty much any seasonal elements to it without worrying about things clashing. For her room I used the wheat wreath by Meagan, some white pumpkins, fresh hydrangeas, some feathers, a tall bundle of branches and our give thanks pillow.
Here's the little swing from her birthday party:
On the other side of her room I just added a wreath I got at Pier 1 several years ago and a faux white pumpkin on top and a real one on the shelf (the ones on the dresser are both real).
Michelle was so sweet and sent us this miniature carriage!
It's almost identical to the one I got Lillie at an antique mall several years ago and have shown here on the blog several times including this photo of Lillie:
And in Jamie and Josh's pregnancy announcement photos:
After I was done taking my photos I realized it was a little too busy looking so I removed one of the pumpkins and I do think it looks better. I wasn't about to retake all the photos, though! Haha!
We had planned on listing some stockings tonight but I haven't finished editing the photos. Hopefully we will have them ready to go at some point tomorrow.
Also, we wanted to congratulate Pam on being the winner of our Custom Wreaths by Meagan Giveaway:
Meagan will be in touch with you to finalize the details!
I hope you all are enjoying October so far!
