Our Old House, A New Valentine's Pillow and the Arabelle Tutu

Whew! It was such a busy weekend. I am behind on taking photos so I don't have anything new to share today (as soon as I finish our bedroom I will share those pictures) but thought I would show you a few photos of our first home. I had to pull out some old CD's to find the photos of Jon and his Grammy from our wedding and when I did I found some old photos of our first home in South Carolina.  The pictures are awful and my style has changed a bit but still I thought it might be fun to show.

Our Christmas Tutu

 

We have a new tutu now available just in time for the holidays! I took our Christmas card picture of Lola and Lillie with Lillie wearing hers. I haven't finished editing the pictures for our card yet but here are a few of Lillie from that day.

 This isn't one of the ones I am going to be using on our card but I thought I would share it seeing how both girls are actually SMILING! I can't believe it! Haha!

Labor Day

I had another post planned for today but when we decided to have a little Labor Day Sale on our tutus I found a handful of pictures from this summer that I had forgotten about so I thought I would post some of them instead today.  This was one of the many times we tried to photograph Lillie in the Lorelei Tutu but didn't really get a good shot of her wearing it. Oh well, it is still fun to look through photos I had forgotten about.

The Audrey Hepburn Tutu

Sometimes I HATE hotmail! This is the third time in the last 6 months or so that a whole page of e-mails disappeared. This weekend I finally began to attack our inbox which I had pretty much ignored since the last few weeks I was pregnant with Lorelei. It was quite the task but I had made it most of the way through (and vowed to myself to NEVER get that behind again!) when the whole second page of e-mails disappeared with the last 20 or so I still needed to respond to. So, if you wrote us any time between March and mid-July and did not get an e-mail back this past weekend (hopefully the majority of you did get yours) please let me know or resend your e-mail and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible!

As we prepare to reopen we have been busy reshooting some of our products. We are changing quite a few things about how we will be selling items and one of the biggest things that will be different is that everything that is for sale will be ready to ship. We hope that this will help make things much easier for everyone as we continue to grow and expand. The biggest change we will be making is that we will be moving from Etsy to our own website. We think this will be so much more user friendly as you will be able to purchase multiple items in different sizes all at once and not have to wait for things to be relisted. I am planning to do a full post soon with all of the details on the upcoming changes which I am so excited about! Anyway, the size of the photos is different on our new site so there are quite a few products that I have been retaking pictures of including the Audrey Hepburn Tutu:

Lucky for me Lillie, like most kids, is enthralled with planes and one flew overhead right as she plopped down!

A Magazine Mention, The Lorelei Tutu and a Winner

 

A few days ago someone commented on our blog about seeing us mentioned in the newest issue of Romantic Country. I assumed they had just gotten us confused with someone else. Well, Monday night I took Lillie to the bookstore for a little bit and I flipped through a copy of the Fall issue of Romantic Country and was completely shocked and thrilled to see Dear Lillie mentioned on page 20! I was also excited to see Lu's gorgeous home featured in this issue and my lovely friends Anne and Kat is in it as well. Anyway, to say we are grateful and excited would be an understatement. I have to admit, though, I got credit for making the tutus (which my mom does) and the hats (which my sister, Dana does) but fortunately they were equally as excited to see Dear Lillie in a magazine and Lillie's photo so they didn't care! =)

On another note I have tried a couple of evenings now to photograph our newest tutu, The Lorelei, but still haven't gotten the shot I want. It will be available when we reopen our shop on September 1st. I love the soft, vintage look it has! It is ivory and has a pixie cut and is accented with a muted rose and lace ribbon. Here are a few photos of Lillie wearing it:

 

I tried to get some shots of both girls wearing it but didn't get any good ones.
