As the owner of a hotel with paying guests, your hotel interior design will always be an issue. Your guests will expect up to date and clean fixtures and as a guide you should feel comfortable staying in all of your own rooms. Below are some tips that make for great room interiors whilst saving time on labor and maintenance too.

Lighting

The way you light your guest rooms can make them feel spacious and inviting. So, forget old fashioned center lamps with dusty shades and install some great strip lighting into your rooms and en suite bathrooms. Strip lights run off energy saving bulbs, very rarely need replacing and what’s more when directed upwards and outwards create not just warmth but an illusion of space.

Floors

When discussing your hotel interior, you need to turn your attentions to your floors. Like in the home, carpets are seriously out of fashion and need to be replaced immediately with modern alternatives such as laminate or wood. Carpets look dull and tired and stain easily, so replace them with easy to clean wooden floors which will make your rooms look modern and pristine.

Furniture

Where you furniture is concerned, think practical. A hotel will look tired and run down with old wooden furniture that is outdated, and many items will simply clutter up the room and make it feel small and cramped. Swap old fashioned dressers for executive office table and chairs and use wardrobes with built in drawers to ensure more floor space and a tidier feel.

Walls

Lastly, when discussing your hotel interior, turn your attention to the walls. Old wallpaper that is peeling and discolored needs to be replaced instantly by fresh colored paint or tiles. Light colored walls will make the rooms look bright and airy, but always make sure that they are kept clean, a washable paint being an excellent investment for both the bedrooms as well as the communal areas.
