Our Growth Chart in Ivory

 

I am so excited that we will be offering the first of our colored ruler growth charts tonight at 9PM EST. These are painted in a soft ivory color called Ballet White and the ruler marks and numbers are in black. We have quite a few other new products in the works that I can't wait to share with you once they are ready.

I started uploading the pictures I took of our family room with the painted coffee table and framed chalkboard today onto my computer last night and should have them all ready to go for next week! I can't wait to show you all. I normally rush through my painting projects and then regret it later but this time I really took my time and did it properly and am so glad I did! And I took pictures step by step for a tutorial. Here's a little sneak peek:

When we made our last batch one of them didn't turn out quite as well as the others so we thought we would save it and use it for a giveaway! There is nothing wrong with it at all, but the wood didn't take the stain quite as smoothly as normally.

The Last Day of Christmas...And New Items in Our Shop!

 

Whew! Today is finally the last day of Christmas here! I think poor Lillie is so confused. I can't wait to tell you more about it but for now I have a million things to finish up before the photographer and stylist arrive but I did want to quickly let you all know our Oversized Ruler Growth Chart is now available in our store as well as a new pillow!  And if you have e-mailed me I promise as soon as today is over I am going to start getting caught up so you will hear back from me very soon!

Some Valentine's Pillows Restocked and The Ruler Growth Chart

 

We just wanted to quickly let you all know that we have restocked our Valentine's silhouette pillow cover, and the Je T'aime ones in 12 by 16 and a new size 12 by 20.

 

And we are super excited to announce that we are going to be selling our 

Ruler Growth Charts!

We plan on having them available Monday as well as possibly a few other new items if we can get them photographed in time. (The photos shown below are of the original one we did last fall. We will be rephotographing the news ones as we were more careful with the staining and more precise with marking the lines) but for now these images are of the original one that is a little messier.

A Little "Ruler" Project and our Give Thanks Pillow

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was nice and busy. We have been working on quite a few projects around the house as well as designing some new Dear Lillie items. We have one new item available this morning, our "give thanks" pillow cover.

Also we have spent some time this past week reviewing things and found some ways to cut shipping costs. We have now lowered all of our domestic shipping charges!

One of the new projects we have been working on here was this fun oversized ruler growth chart to measure Lillie and Lola. I saw a great tutorial on the blog 517 Creations for this that was inspired by the Pottery Barn Kids one that is sold out. I used a different font and process for ours as well as a darker stain for mine because it is in our family room which has a lot of dark tones in it. Also, I just used a sharpie instead of a paint pen because that is what I had on hand and it worked great! (The ones in our shop we use an entirely different process as they are screenprinted!)

Jon and Jason both informed me they didn't like it at all (although now they are taking it back) but I really love it! I wish I could get a picture so you could see it and the rest of the family room but I had trouble finding an angle that worked.

If you look closely you will see I messed up quite a few times but I am going to blame that on the fact that I was doing it with Lola in the Bjorn and she kept squealing and flailing her arms and knocking the sharpie and half of the time I was balancing it as I was writing on one side and Lillie was on the backside making her own version. Fortunately she didn't seem to mind when we hung it on my side. =)
