Garden update and beautiful outbuildings

 

Good morning my dear readers! How are you today?

This is my first day of the new working week as we enjoyed a long weekend here in Belgium! Unfortunately the weekend started with some bad weather, it was rather chilly and it rained a lot! We had planned to work in our garden for a few days and although the weather wasn’t excellent, Jan and Anthony started planting boxwood.

Boxwood plants arrived last week.

 

Jan and Anthony first planted boxwood hedges in order to become 4 compartments in which the boxwood balls had to be planted.

Unfortunately they had to wait to plant the boxwood, because the ground was too wet! It had rained too much the earlier days.

So Jan decided to finish some other jobs he had planned to do this weekend.

 

He planted small apple trees in the planters at our outbuilding.

 

Jan made the planters of oak wood that was left of the boarded oak used to build our garden outbuilding 3 years ago.

We are all looking forward to summertime here in Belgium! We really need sunshine! It is still too cold for the time of the year!

I hope we will soon be able to enjoy our outbuilding!

Two Belgian artisans

Today I want to introduce you to 2 Belgian people, both artisans and creative in the outdoor sector.

 

Stijn Cornilly is a Belgian landscaper, creative in the design and construction of stylish, low maintenance gardens.

The second person that I want you to meet today, is a master at designing and construction of beautiful farm buildings, fences and accessories, all related to the traditional Flemish country outdoor living and landscape architecture : Dirk Mortier.

His company is based in Everbeek-Beneden (Brakel) only a few steps from my home.

I have always loved the beautiful home extensions and oak constructions

of our Belgian company LLOYD HAMILTON.

Whether you want to choose for a home extension or you would love to have a charming outbuilding in your garden, you will love these Lloyd Hamilton constructions.

I have posted here some of my favorites.

I love how this company integrates their home extensions. They do make an effort to choose the right building materials required to extend your home in a way that it is not overwhelming, so that the house don’t loose its characteristics and authenticity. Proportions are very important!

This is one of my favorites! A combination of a brick façade with oak constructed window frames and doors.
