Happy Easter and a SALE

I just wanted to wish you all a beautiful Easter Sunday! I tried to take a few shots of the girls all dressed up SUPER quickly as we were headed out the door yesterday for an Easter egg hunt. I got one (above) where they were at least both looking at the camera and then the rest pretty much looked like this:

Lillie did smile sweetly (after donning an Easter bonnet my aunt sent her) for about a minute...

...and then she kept telling me she wanted to make "funny" faces:

I also wanted to let you know we are having a two day sale! Get 30% off anything in stock in our shop today and tomorrow only!
***DISCOUNT DOES NOT APPLY TO DOWNLOADABLE ART***

I also wanted to wish Jon a very happy 33rd birthday! Have a beautiful and blessed Easter!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

The Same Little Smirk...

Just popping in to say I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I have been working on our 2012 photo album and was editing some photos from earlier this month. I printed this one out and when my mom saw it she noted Lola had the same expression as a photo I'd taken of her when she was just a couple of months old. Sure enough, when I found it it was almost the exact same photo - just a year and a half later! It's funny to see how similar she looks in some ways and different in others. Her features are pretty much the same but her hair and eyes have lightened. And I think I can see a little more mischief in her eyes in the second photo... =)

I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Dashing Through the Snow and a Few Pictures from Indiana

I am sure most of your are busy with last minute Christmas preparations but I just wanted to pop in and let you know that we are excited to be offering our first 20 by 20 pillow cover today in our shop! By going with a gray fabric and white ink we thought this would be a great pillow to have all winter long.

I also thought I would share a few of the photos I took last week while we were visiting Jon's family in Indiana.  Here Lillie and Lola are snuggling with their new cousin, baby Ella.

I hope you all have had a lovely weekend and have a Christmas Eve tomorrow!

Have a blessed Wednesday!

Another round of Christmas Card Outtakes

Thanks to lots of traveling, people visiting, the girls being sick, and being sick myself, I felt like I have spent most of this fall playing "catch-up" on this blog. I am excited now for the first time in months to finally be caught up. I think I have photos for at least two weeks of posts already taken (although I still need to write them - haha!) so starting tomorrow I will have quite a few new posts including more Christmas decorating and at least two tutorials. And I still have a few more things left for December to finish up and photograph and then we have several fun things I am working on for January including Jamie's baby shower! For today though, while I finish up editing some of the new photos I thought I would share some pictures of the girls in Colonial Williamsburg that I took several weeks ago.

A while back I showed you some of my attempts of getting a good shot of both girls together for our Christmas card. I ended up taking two more stabs at it but unfortunately never got the shot I had in my head. I did get our Christmas card finished up though and started getting them sent out yesterday. Here are a few shots, from our third unsuccessful try at getting "the shot".

I got a few pictures of them on their own, although to keep Lola still I had to give her a lollipop...

But then when it came time to get them both in the shot I pretty much just got their backsides...

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday! I am planning on taking the girls to see Santa later today...we'll see if this year goes a little better than the last few years - haha! And I'll be back tomorrow.

Trying to Get a Christmas Card Picture Part 2

After having no luck at the barn and apple orchard that I showed you yesterday I took the girls to my uncle's to play in the playhouse that my great grandparent's built for their two children and that four generations have now played in.  While Lillie was playing I chased Lola around. She was working on apple number two from the orchard.

Then I thought maybe I could get something with them sitting on a little bench they thought was cute. Lola still had a mouthful of apple though...
  which she kept chewing...

and chewing...

Back to the playhouse they went and of course Lola went back to eating her apple again!

So, there you have it! I'm going to give it one more try this weekend and then throw in the towel! =)

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far!
