Today we got a look into the apartment behind ours, and I am speechless. The maintenance man was there to start cleaning it so it would be livable for the next tenant. He said that a homeless man had kicked in the outside door (separate entrance from our apartment) and was living there for a few months. Apparently he was living there with another man and woman as well!
The apartment was something like I have never seen before! It was horrendous to say the least! I cannot believe that we live in the same building with a place like that. It was the same as our apartment, but with trash everywhere. There were huge blankets covering the windows, broken bottles and trash everywhere, chunks of food laying around, dirty blankets and sheets in the corners...and it goes on. It was creepy. Who knows what went on in that apartment.
I was happy to have been able to see into the apartment, but it made me more nervous about living in this building. At least we have our own little sanctuary of living on this side of the house. Walking into our clean apartment everyday, lit up with sunshine and green plants makes me happy. :)
