Sunday Showhouse, you're invited!!

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer so far. I feel like its going by way too fast though and I just want to hit the pause button. When I think of summer, I think of getaways to the lake, to the beach and relaxation. Summer is about downtime and decompressing from life's maddening pace and nothing to me, is as relaxing as being near the water. It is practically hypnotizing! Today we take our time and head to three gorgeous homes near the water. This is all about a casual but elegant and low key weekend getaway to a lake house. Who doesn't dream about escaping life's chaos and unwinding by a lazy lake with your biggest worry being about which book to read? Sounds good to me! Give me a bottle or two of wine for the weekend, some good company, great food and soft music...I am good to go! First we start off in gorgeous picturesque Montana.

LAKE HEAD, MONTANA This incredible three structure compound was completed by architect, Arthur Anderson and designer Mimi London. All three buildings face directly onto the lake and the main lodge is the crown jewel. There are many vintage pieces that work beautifully with several more contemporary pieces. Tree line views from every other window  make this a home where every room is nothing short of breathtaking......I could definitely enjoy getting away to a gorgeous compound like this.

MEXICO. Michael Schaible designed this fabulous minimalist modern home in Ajijic, Mexico. The door was painted a beautiful vivid blue which was drawn from inspiration in one of the owners Matisse paintings. Built on beautiful Lake Chapala, the setting is nothing less than fabulous. Funny that from the street, there is little clue to the beauty and drama that lies beyond that blue door! Love the dramatic soaring spaces and huge walls of glass. This is an entertainers dream!! Take a look.....

SOUTHAMPTON, NEW YORK. Finally we head towards Georgica Pond to the famous Hamptons, where this fabulous perched high on a hill Southampton beauty commands killer views of both the lake and distant ocean. I love the decor here, quintessentially "elegant sophisticated beachy." Mariette Himes Gomez designed the fabulous interiors. I would happily get away to this home every weekend every season!
